A Native Son of the Cowboy Capital

Brett Lane Dickerson was born in Oakdale, the son of a livestock rancher and a "stay at home mom". Brett's early years were spent in the Oakdale school system, culminating in his graduation as a proud Mustang from Oakdale High School in 1976.

Brett remained close to the local community during his college years, graduating with a degree in Business from California State College, Stanislaus in 1980.

Brett married his wife Diane in 1984 and enjoyed success in aviation, modular office manufacturing, and real estate, owning a real estate brokerage office in Greeley Hill, CA. However, Brett always wanted to be a lawyer, so he entered law school in 1993.

Brett was named to the Dean's List every year he attended and was a recipient of the Annabelle McGeorge Scholarship. He was admitted to membership in the Roger F. Traynor Honor Society in recognition of academic excellence in the study of law and awarded first honors in trial advocacy by the Consumer Attorneys of Sacramento Association. He is most proud, however, of having been selected by his classmates to be the Day Division commencement speaker at their graduation ceremony.

Brett graduated with distinction from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, in 1996 and has since been practicing in the areas of Labor and Employment, Real Estate and Administrative Law. He is rated AV by the Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating system, representing the "Highest Possible Ratings in both legal ability and ethical standards."

In August 2012, Brett opened Dickerson Law, Inc., in Oakdale, California.
